He was born in Ankara in 1967. After completing his secondary education at Samsun Anatolian High School, he started Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 1986. He completed his medical education in 1992 and received the title of medical doctor. After working as an assistant doctor in the Urology Clinic of Ankara Numune Hospital for 1 year, he left here and started his specialization in the Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery Department of Çukurova University Faculty of Medicine in 1993. He completed his residency training in 1999 and became a specialist in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
In 2000, he started to work as an assistant professor at Mersin University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Since 2003, he worked as a “research fellow” at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation Microsurgery in Cleveland, USA for more than 1 year. He has been here in experimental face transplants, Craniofacial Defect repairs, and nerve healing studies. During this period, he won the 'Best Paper Award' with his presentation at a competition held in Indianapolis. He also worked with Dr James Zins at the Cleveland Clinic Plastic Surgery Clinic and learned many surgical techniques for the face and neck from him.
He returned to Turkey in 2004 and continued his work. He was awarded the title of Associate Professor in 2005 by successfully passing the exam.
He went to the United States again in 2008 and worked with the world-renowned facial and rhinoplasty surgeon Dr Bahman Guyuron; increased his experience in facial aesthetics, rhinoplasty and migraine surgery.
In 2009, he started his studies at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University, Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He received the title of Professor Doctor in 2010.
In 2013, she worked actively in Dr Ozan Sözer's clinic for 3 months in El Paso, Texas, USA. Here, he increased his knowledge and experience in face and neck surgery and body shaping surgeries.
Dr Emrah Arslan retired from his State duty at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University in 2021. He continues his work in Istanbul by opening his own clinic right after.
Dr Emrah Arslan has more than 50 scientific articles published in international journals, 12 scientific articles published in national journals, and many papers presented in national and international congresses. To date, over 3000 citations have been made to the scientific articles he has written.
Dr. Emrah Arslan, who is among the founding members of the Aesthetic Facial and Nose Surgery Association, is a member of national and international associations such as Turkish Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery Association, Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Association, Turkish Reconstructive Microsurgery Association, Wound Care Association, BAPRAS, EURAPS and is a very good Fluent in English, intermediate in German
